For good

A wonderful and very touching song from the Musical "Wicked". Two friends say goodbye to each other, not knowing if they will ever meet again. Here is my version of it.
Lyrics:
I've heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow,
If we let them
And we help them in return.
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true,
But I know I'm who I am today
Because I knew you.
Like a comet pulled from orbit
As it passes a sun,
Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood.
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you
I have been changed for good

It well may be
That we will never meet again
In this lifetime,
So let me say before we part:
So much of me
Is made of what I learned from you.
You'll be with me
Like a handprint on my heart.
And now whatever way our stories end,
I know you have re-written mine
By being my friend.

Like a ship blown from its mooring
By a wind of the sea,
Like a seed dropped by a skybird
In a distant wood.
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you,
I have been changed for good.

And just to clear the air
I ask forgiveness
For the things I've done you blame me for.
But then, I guess we know
There's blame to share
And none of it seems to matter anymore.

Like a comet pulled from orbit as it passes the sun.
Like a stream that meats a boulder halfway through the wood.

Like a ship blown off it's mooring by a wind of the sea.
Like a seed dropped by a bird in the wood.

Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
I do believe I have been changed for the better.
And because I knew you
I have been changed for good.

Isle of Inisfree

So here is a song called "Isle of Inisfree" from the irish band "Celtic Woman". If you put in "New Zealand" it's describing my situation perfectly well...

 I've met some folks,
Who say that I'm a dreamer,
And I've no doubt
There's truth in what they say.
But sure a body's bound to be a dreamer
When all the things he loves are far away.

And precious things
Are dreams unto an exile.
They take him o'er
The land across the sea.
Especially when it happens he's an exile
From that dear lovely Isle of Inisfree

And when the moonlight
Peeps across the rooftops
Of this great city,
Wondrous though it be,
I scarcly feel its wonder or laughter:
I'm once again back home in Inisfree.

I wonder o'er green hills,
Through dreamy valleys
And find a peace
No other land would know.
I hear the birds make music fit for angels
And watch the rivers laughing
As they flow.

And then into a humble shack I wander--
My dear old home--
And tenderly behold
The folks I love,
Around the turf fire gathered;
On bended knee
Their rosary is told.

But dreams don't last
Though dreams are not forgotten
And soon I'm back
To stern reality.
But though they pave
The footways here with gold dust,
I still would choose
My Isle of Inisfree.

Requiem

Und hier ist meine Version des Requiem
von Robert Louis Stevenson,
zu dem ich gerade eine Melodie komponiere...

Under the wide and starry sky
dig the grave and let me lie.
Glad did I live and gladly die
and I laid me down with a will.

This be the verse you grave for me:
"Here he lies, where he longed to be.
Home is the sailor, home from the sea
and the hunter home from the hill."

From the sky the moon shines bright,
'neath the earth lies bare and still.
Sleep is a-coming, I close my limp eyes,
let me find to paradise !

Dark Waltz

Hi there, this is me singing the Dark Waltz by Hayley Westenra with my friend Millie on the piano.
This song was performed as part of her Perfromance Music New Zealand performers assessment.
Enjoy !

my first composition

This is my very first try to compose a piece.
It had to be instrumental, so I composed it for solo violin.
I hope yoiu forgive me the recording is not the best -
I'm not a concert violinist.
But here you are:

the school orchestra

Here you can listen to the first showcase of our school orchestra playing the Slavonik Dance by Dvorak and the Ouverture from Orpheus in the Underworld by Offenbach.

This are the two pieces Andante Festivo by Sibelius and Night on a bald Mountain which we played at Showcase 2.
