Return to the beginning

My name is Franziska Fait and I am a 19-year-old voice student at the Folkwang University of Arts in Essen, Germany. The “Dream NEW” scholarship would be a wonderful opportunity for me to return to my favourite place on earth.

In 2012 I went to New Zealand for a year to study at Burnside High School and I can honestly say that that was the very best year of my life! The Special Music Program helped me to develop my voice and shaped my path for the future. I met so many wonderful people, had countless new experiences, got to know other cultures and enjoyed nature’s beauty. I simply love this country, not only because it is home to “The Lord of the Rings”, my favourite books and movies, but because I have never felt more welcome and happy. Now, four years later, I still dream of roaming the wide native forests or sharing a traditional Maori Hangi meal.

In New Zealand I would like to continue my studies in vocal performance and get other influences and inspirations. I picked Victoria University in Wellington because it seems to be the best university for this field. Courses like “Classical Performance”, “Theatre” and “Diction” would also help me with my studies in Germany. Furthermore, I have some of my best friends from my high school year studying there. 

And maybe my dream of returning to this country at the beginning of the world will come true soon!
