Mainly for Music at the beginning, because that will be the next exam. I also annotated my skript for Drama, invited Sandy for a day of boardgames and a few very awarding fencing matches at the training.
It's Thursday now and I've got my Music exam in the morning. It went quite allright, although I still can't transpose...
Back at home I get a text from Sarah, saying that apparently Mr Christeller phoned everyone this morning to say that unfortunately because of these few raindrops we're staying at school for our rock climbing assessment. This notice came just in time for me to bring my violin for the orchestra rehearsal which I would have missed otherwise. At the rehearsal Mrs Renaud, Ciara and Andrew laugh about my outfit: sports uniform shirt, my kilt with blue sports trousers underneath and running shoes...
I didn't want to get changed again when at the same time respecting the school uniform rules...
In the period between the Lunchtime and afterschool practices (the Juniors still have their usual lessons...). I go to the Hunter Gym to climb up a ladder and abseil down, which is quite easy; Ciara and Maddy even came as my 'moral support'. Thanks, guys !
Isn't it nice to have some free time now without studying ?
Mock Exams are over !
On Friday (21th September 2012) the school starts again and that with a long special Year 12 assembly where we got information about the different available prefect roles in Year 13 like for example Performing Arts Leaders.
I really want to stay another year now !
We already got our Music results back !
I achieved the oral paper and the one about Music Works and even got Merit in Score Reading !!!
Of course I can get better, but for my total ignorance of any high quality music theory this is really pleasing !
Senior Chorale rehearses Waltzing Mathilda (the first time with me) and it sounds great with all the boys behind me! So much fun, but all sopranos forgot their text so I was the only one left singing because i had a score in front of me... The rescue of the sopranos !
I failed 2 out of 3 Calculus Exam parts, but although that's sad it is also fine, because the Mocks don't really count anything, there are just a preparation for the final end of year exams. And as long as we can laugh about it... I mean, school is so relaxing if your results don't count for the following year (back in Germany), although OF COURSE I do the best that I can anyway !!!
On saturday I practiced EVERY violin piece really thoughtfully before the 1-4pm rehearsal and even between that and the concert at 7 in the evening (as well as all 4 compositions people have asked me to record for their assessments). It was just GREAT ! We play every piece we have learned so far and the Westburn Intermediate School Orchestra joins us for Slavonik Dance.
Because of that we had to have our very special birthday party for Bilbo and frodo Baggins one day after the 22nd of November, so we had our special Hobbit dinner on the sunday evening with candlelight. We had gherkins, Tofu, vegetables, potatoes, bread, butter, cheese, apples...
Long live Frodo and Bilbo !
